Our sweet beginnings

The Emerald Crumb is named after my favorite color, green. Growing up, baking wasn't my favorite activity; I struggled with the precision it required. However, during nursing school, I discovered baking as a creative escape. It quickly became a passion, and I've been learning and growing ever since, bringing delicious treats to life.

What makes us special

As a full-time registered nurse, I bring the same level of care and dedication to The Emerald Crumb that I do to my patients. This unique background fosters trust and thoughtfulness in every treat I bake. Everything is made to order, ensuring you receive fresh, custom-baked goods for your celebrations. My self-taught journey in baking is fueled by passion, practice, and creativity, offering a personal touch that customers truly connect with.

What I enjoy most about baking for my customers is being a part of their special moments. Big celebrations have always held great importance to me, and as an empath, it brings me immense joy to contribute to your happiness through my creations. Each cake, cupcake, and cookie is baked with the intention of making your occasions even more memorable.

Meet Sydney, Owner of The Emerald Crumb

I am proud to say that I am a Grand Junction native, deeply rooted in this beautiful community. My journey has been enriched by the love and support of my wonderful husband, who stands by my side through thick and thin. Together, we share a life filled with joy and laughter.

Professionally, I dedicate myself to serving others as a full-time nurse at the Veterans Hospital. It’s an honor to care for those who have served our country, providing them with the support and medical attention they deserve. In addition to my role at the hospital, I also work as a PRN hospice nurse. This position allows me to provide compassionate care during some of life’s most challenging moments, and it’s a privilege to be part of such important journeys.

Outside of my nursing career, I have a passion for baking. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about creating delicious treats from scratch. Whether it’s cookies, cakes, or bread, I love experimenting with new recipes and sharing my creations with family and friends. Baking is not just a hobby for me; it’s a way to express my creativity and bring a little sweetness into the lives of those around me.

My life as a Grand Junction native is enriched by my supportive husband, my fulfilling nursing career, and my love for baking. Each aspect of my life contributes to who I am and the joy I find in everyday moments.
